JD 2320 utility fluid level

I changed the hydraulic fluid and filter on my 2320 that has 205 hours on it. It seemed like an overkill but that's what the manual said to do. The JD dealer sold me the parts needed, unfortunately the fluid has no color while the old fluid was red and easy to see in the site glass.

Manual says to fill to about 3/4 full in site glass, I probably got a pint over that which filled the site glass. Do I need to drain some out or do you think I will be ok.

There is a red dye you can get from Jd that helps you see. If the 2320 is like my 2520 there is actually a dipstick. I have no idea why they did this but if you look way down in between the high low selector lever and some plastic it's down inside. I checked it once that way and about didn't get my hand back out. I scratched the heck out of my hand trying that.

The reason the original fluid was red is because John Deere puts a dye in it from the factory. John Deere sells the dye that you can put back in the hydraulic oil so that you can see the fluid level better. I hope this info helps!
