Wheel weights not getting lighter with age

I hung 5 sets of wheel weights on my tractor last night. Don't remember them being that heavy. Sucks getting older.

Definitely a forklift job. Speaking of forklift, I just lifted a full propane can onto the back of mine, and was surprised how heavy propane has gotten! I usually fill them from the 1000 gal tank, and they're half full at best.

I have a gizmo I made...heavy piece of threaded rod run thru the 4" thickness of a 2x4 which is about 18" long. The 2x4 has a clevis thru the other end. Have not used it in a while but I put the rod thru a bolt hole on the weight and picked the whole business up with a little floor crane hooked on the clevis then the rod went thru one bolt hole on the wheel and the weight slid into place. Put the rest of the bolts in then pulled out the rod and put in the last. This worked really well. I work alone 90% of the time so I have to cheat some.

Dave, that ain't cheating! That is using your head. I grew up often having to work alone while my father was at work. I was cultivating alone at 10 and went from there. Who said something about a long enough lever and a place to stand...?
Most inventions are the result of finding an easier or better way to do something. Don't quit "cheating". LOL
BTW, nice share.

A bobcat skid steer is a wonderful machine to lift things. When I mount and dismount dual tires, I use the forks on a bobcat. Easier and much safer.

I made a gizmo for my shop crane that handles wheel weights perfectly. I'm too old to enjoy pinched fingers.

That is what I do, tip them up and slide 2 or 3 on the fork, line it up and slide them in place. I remember my Dad having to get the big 'native' up the road to help him put on weights when I was just a kid...

In my 500 case service manual it shows using a case plow with molboard standards removed on a vac to install the 400 pound weights on that big heavy wheatland tractor

(quoted from post at 19:39:40 09/26/19) I helped a friend with suit case weights at a tractor pull last week. My shoulder hurt all the next day. Gravity is getting stronger all the time.
Yeah, they keep turning it up.
