We had a safe space on the farm. It was about 3 bales deep in the hay barn so Pa couldn?t find you!

I had to hire some farm help one summer, a guy from California. Just labor work. I told him it could pay maybe $7 to maybe $10 an hour, depends now it works out. He said no, he had to have a percent of the gross. I still laugh about that ?. [He didn't get hired.]

Time outs were spent up in the silo forking down silage. Kinda like Paul Newman and Struther Martin. I had to get my mind right.
