Uncle Don's 730

I can sort of remember when my uncle bought this one year old 730 Case diesel. It was the tractor I learned to drive and work summerfallow with
in the summer of 1970 when he was too sick to work it. It took a beating from this learner but survived. I take it out every now and then for a
little exercise and to hear the familiar sound of that old smooth Case diesel engine. Its a beast to steer with manual steering and dozer frame
on it but then you don't want to turn real sharp with the pto shaft running on the rotary mower. I recorded some video of the startup and
cutting some thistles out in the pasture. Too damp to harvest still but at least I'm getting in some tractor time.

Case 730 Diesel

Wow, 20 yrs. on a battery. I go thru at least 5 in that amount of time on equipment that doesn't get used on a regular basis. Like you, I have a lot of rolling stock around the farm and wondered if you use any fuel stabilizer or conditioner.
Great video & the old 730 sounded sweet. As always, thanks for posting.

Thank you for taking the time to share your videos Rusty.Your equipment is excellently cared for and it shows.

I think I remember that tractor would have live PTO, right? Dad had an 830 Western (1962) very similar to your 730. Are those Canadian thistles?

Yes, Canada thistles and live pto on the Case. Your 830 and 730 are identical except for an extra 34 cubic inches of engine displacement. Your 62 would have been the "low profile" model as I think it was 63 when they remodeled them with a higher hood and bigger fuel tank. This one is a 63 or possibly 64 model.
