No. 31 Loader Cylinders

Any idea where I can find rebuilt kits for the cylinders on my No. 31 Loader? It works great but the cylinders leak a little. Thanks!

Why not have them rebuilt? Any ideas you get from us will be marginal if we do not know where you are in the world. Most hydraulic shops will/can get the parts to fix them. Unless badly scored, or rust pitted it should be reasonable. Jim

It's a big 'ol relatively low pressure system without chromed cylinder "rods" and a LITTLE leakage is probably normal.

Your photo isn't detailed enough so I can see if there's an adjustable "packing gland" that can be snugged up a bit, or not.

As to a "kit", the only way you are going to find a complete, "all-in-one kit" is if the OEM still offers one, have have you checked with "FIAT"?

If that doesn't work out, a good nearby hydraulic shop should be able to identify the individual seals and come up with replacements for them.

If no such place nearby, try calling Baum Hydraulics in Omaha.

I have that same loader. Perfect match for a Farmall H. One of my cylinders leaks just a little, but only when the rig is parked with the loader all of the way down. Never leaks while in use.

It has probably been 10 years or so, but a friend of mine actually got a rebuild kit from Case-IH.

Thanks, guys. I'm pulling them apart this weekend, but will check with my local Case IH first. Seems like a good, reasonable start. I just ordered some other seals and gaskets from them.
