Any body have good luck with them? My son wants to order parts from there. Ordering front upper control arms with ball joints SKP brand any one heard of that brand? Cost is about $50 each cheeper then NAPA.

I have ordered from Rock Auto and as long as you can wait for delivery, they did a good job. FYI, check the cost of shipping, they charge you for each shipment from each warehouse.

I've used them a few times, great prices!

I like that you get choices of brands, and for suspension parts, to me the name brand is worth the difference. Still going to be a lot less than the local auto supply.

One thing to watch, sometimes they claim a part will fit across the model line when it won't.

Got into that with a fuel gauge sending unit on an F350. Many different tank options, they offered one unit to fit all. It didn't...

I try to order from RockAuto and I love doing business with them. However, there are a couple of things to remember. RA is not Amazon Prime, so there is no free shipping. That said, sometimes RA will ship from several different warehouses. When they do this, that is when your shipping charges really add up. Always try to get an order to ship from the same warehouse. Also, if you purchase something with a core charge, don't try to ship your core back. You will lose any savings that you thought you saved. RA has a running 5% discount code. Always use it because every little bit helps.

I order most of my parts from them. Probably bought over $1000 of stuff in the last couple weeks. Like a couple other guys said, try to get stuff that ships from the same place to save a few bucks.

My experience with cores is that its pretty cheap to send them back with Rock Auto's discounted Fedex labels. I just sent back a ps pump and a hydroboost for about $6 each. I also have another hydroboost and a caliper off of a med duty truck. They will ship together for $6.50. Well worth sending them back.

I've ordered from them before and had no problems.
Last time it was some motor mounts. They were a brand I hadn't heard of but were identical to the original and probably from the same factory anyway, the way things work these days.

I ised to get most df my parts there but then it seemed to take forever so i switched.

With RA you can get from good to junk. Spend your money accordingly. It takes me about 5 minutes to order from RA. It takes about an hour to go to town and have them order it. Front door service works out better most of the time.

Try AM-AUTOPARTS.COM!
I just got upper control arm for my truck $47 about 1/3 the price of local parts store .
Shipping was 3 days I was happy with that, perfect fit .

Any time I'm planning a repair in advance I order everything from Rock. I can usually find better quality parts there at a better price than I'd pay for the store brand parts at the local stores.

Needed an exhaust manifold for Cummins diesel- $400 at NAPA, $180 incl. shipping at Rock Auto. And it was the exact same brand.

Use them for anything that I don't need right away. If ordered in the morning 80% of what I order is here in 2 days, 10% in one day. The rest takes a few days longer but you know that as they tell you extended delivery. Don't believe I have ever waited more than a week.

Never had any trouble ordering from RA, but you have to watch the shipping. Usually, the shipping puts them at or over my local suppliers. I have only ordered stuff for weird things I had, like an MG that local supplier parts were stupid high.

I dont have time most of the time to wait on parts, but I did order some windsheild washer squirters for my sons car from them recently. That was back in august. Still waiting for those, and any attempt at a refund I get a run around. IF they arent here by Friday, Im filing a claim with the credit card company.

I have bought from both rock auto and am-auto parts. Am parts does not have a lot of stuff but what they do have ships fast and free. Rock auto list way too many items and no real way to know what is what ? But many times super good prices. Really have to watch if they shows stock and where it all ships from as shipping adds up fast. Rock auto if you sign up and input your make and model will email you lists of closeout items at super duper cheap prices. If you managed a fleet of certain vehicles you could stock up really cheap.

You summed it up well. I have ordered quite a lot from Rock auto after learning of them on this forum. (Thanks Jdemaris). If you can plan ahead your parts needs the savings can be significant. If there are multiple shipping locations that can work against you. I often look for filters and other things I will need eventually when ordering from RA ,if you can get them from the same shipping location often little to no extra shipping.

I avoid Rock Auto after they screwed me on a defective master cylinder. If you need any after sales support good luck. They have no phone lines. The only contact point is email answered by people who know nothing about cars.

I now use Amazon or get stuff from O'Reilly's. I know that either will take a defective part back without accusing me of ordering parts that don't fit my vehicle just to get out of a refund.

Note Amazon has had most things I need and since we have prime I get the parts shipped for free in 2 days.

have had ok luck. if there is a problem there is NO ONE to talk to. its only online and NOT easy to use.

had an issue with FedEx dropping off at the wrong house (crappy neighbor just left on their steps and didn't care) couldn't get anywhere at all with RAuto. eventually figured out where the package was but didn't look good as far as getting help from RAuto.

otherwise they're ok as other mentioned you have to watch ROckauto shipping $. if more than 1 part they'll put them in different warehouses to double or triple the shipping $.

even with 1 part their shipping often puts the their $ up to or over other sources like aamazoon and eebay.

i usually use Rockauto to search for parts. then find a good part and $. then copy that part number from Rauto and google it to see the prices in other places.
