I had a senior moment, actually I've had many senior moments.(Still not
dead yet or even injured) That said I forgot to open tailgate and dumped
a load. It lifted the rear of the truck. Almost enough I could change the
rear tires. Good thing my dump trailer has power down or I would have to
shovel it out.

Years ago I was hauling a load of square bales for the horses, had a pick up truck stacked full and an old truck box trailer behind it also stacked full.

It started to rain just as we were pulling into the yard so I backed everything into the shop to keep it dry until the rain stopped.

The rain kept coming all day and I needed the truck so we decided to unhook the trailer and unload the truck.

Pulled the release on the trailer coupler and bang, the trailer tongue shot straight up toward my face but fortunately stopped when the safety chains tightened up.

The bales on the open tailgate of the trailer had made it very tail heavy.

Was telling the story to a friend a few days later and he told me about how his brother had done the exact same thing except he had unhooked the safety chains first.

He did not survive.

A few years ago a neighbor was killed when he was standing on the front of a grain cart looking inside and the front of the grain cart flipped up launching him through the air. He landed on the cement floor behind the grain cart. The cart was not hooked to a tractor. They were emptying the cart with a grain vac and sucked too much grain out of the front leaving too much grain in back.
