Beans and corn

Like most everyone; we had a wet and cold spring and planting was delayed. The corn
and beans came on really well. The bean plants grew vigorously and look really good,
but the pods are short averaging only 3 beans per pod. The corn looks real good and
ears are nicely formed and starting to drop

This is in central NY.-----------Loren

Our corn went from best we had to worse,in same field.our soybeans are various,we went from soggy wet to desert dry

In south central PA my neighbor who farms about 6,000 acres has started to shell corn. He has early and late corn. The early corn looks pretty brown, but I would think he'll definitely have to dry it.

By looking at it in July, I didn't think much corn was going to mature, but with this warm weather and looking like a late first frost, I think most of it will make it Loren

An organic guy over my way planted some July first - it won't be ready for the combine, but it'll be decent corn silage

Here in Iowa the corn is probably 3/4 yellow and the beans are just starting to lose their leaves. Lots of rain this year has done us well. Beans have the most pods I ever recall seeing. Planted Stine GT27 for the first time and very pleased with it. Corn is about as expected on a good year. Possibly a bit above average. Corn is RobSeeCo, I forget the number.
