Which is best choice farmall 300 or Ferguson to-20

I am tore between 2 different tractors
I am looking at a 300 farmall its a tricycle front end tractor.
It was running when parked but its been sitting awhile.
Its a two point hitch tractor.
It comes with the 3 point hitch adapter a parts tractor and a sickle mower and disc plow.

The other tractor is a Ferguson to20
Runs dives operates.the guy has put alot of work into. I can drive it on to the trailer and start using it.

I have a 5ft bush hogg and a 6ft Bush hogg

Just looking for a tractor for bush hogged and basic work around the house.

Thanks

The Fergie is a bit more handy for those odd jobs, but the 300 is a good chunk more tractor.

If ya got the $$$ grab both ,if low on $$$ or just want 1 buy the 300 farmall.big tires ride better, lots better traction and your not setting down low when brush hogging getting bathed in grass chunks ,less chance rocks will hit you too

The 300 is bigger and will burn more gas but has nearly double the power, TA, more gears, independent PTO, and live hydraulics. Depends on what you need.

Best choice is to forget both and look for a new 35 or 50 MF. More gears, independent pto. Of course a 300 has that also, but their torque is iffy.

I have one of each of these tractors. My 300u has a loader and power steering. I use it almost strictly for the loader. The Ferguson is my go to tractor to pull the hay rake, bush hog, garden tilling and planting. Working on the Ferguson for repairs is not difficult. The 300u is Not easy to work on. If I could only have one, it would be the Ferguson.

I wouldn't give you 10 cents for a pre 1963 or so IH/Farmall tractor.....and I like IH. On the other hand I think the TO will struggle with a 5' hog. I believe you would be money ahead in the long run to look for a mid 60's Ford 3000, MF 135, and number of the 60s-70s IH utilities and maybe toss some of the JD utilities too.
Might cost a bit more but if you want something you can work then you might be money ahead.

The H, 300, 350 were all very efficient on fuel - the M,400, 450 were fuel hogs.

If you are sure on the condition of the 300 I'd buy it any day over the massey - Independent PTO and hydraulics make it a much easier tractor to use for any chore. Does the sickle bar mower have a wooden pitman stick or a wobble box. If it s a wobble box and works that's $400 to $800 right there.

If you were wanting to pull a 8' disk the 300, if just grading a drive the TO-20. Mower neither.

Yeah, why is it always A or B? How about C, none of the above, and keep shopping?

The 300 will run the mowers better and getting the mowers adapted to the fast hitch is no big deal, but it sits up high so if you're trying to mow around trees you will constantly be sifting yourself through the branches.

The TO-20 will frustrate you to death with its lack of power, bad brakes, and everything coming to a screeching halt the moment you push the clutch. Remember you lose your PTO and 3pt as soon as you push the clutch as they're all transmission driven. Also, you'll need an overrunning clutch for the mower or it will backdrive the wheels through the transmission, possibly causing havoc.
