Hey guys found out something very strange on the 67 806
Diesel it seems that when I take the injector pump number and enter it in to computer it shows to reference on a 856 instead of 806 , I have the wrong pump on my tractor this is how ever not the original because of how clean it was when I bought it, can this be causing or what can it cause damage wise if I keep running tractor hope I didn?t screw anything up
Idk if pump messed shaft up or what but I?m pretty sure that why the tractor acts like it?s missing the advice is different in pump I guess .

Shouldn't hurt a thing, that's been done before. Would have to look up the specs but think both pumps are within two CCs of each other on max fuel, full load setting..

Don't really know what problem you are having with the 806, but, after IH spare parts supply of original part number pump for 806, the replacement pump was same as 856. Only real difference (improvements are always made along the way on most any part) is the automatic advance. The 806 was 7 degrees and 856 was 10 degrees so IH recommended setting static timing to 6 degrees btdc instead of 8 when putting a new pump onto an 806. I think I am remembering all this correct as I am not looking in the book.

If you have a little white smoke at high idle your advance probably is not advancing correctly or static timing is late. Fuel pressure operates the advance and raises with engine speed so that has to be correct first of all. But, like I said, don't know your actual problem but you mentioned white smoke.

Fuel setting is very close to same and most are set beyond specs anyway.
