Case8420 baler

my case 8420 baler has begun to have problems with the pick up stopping when the bale chamber is 1/2 full.This has happened when baling two different materials.Any suggestions?

Check your drive belt. Loose, oil covered? There is a rod that loosens the belt if you make the bale to big. Check to see if it has got bent or come out of adjustment. Check the pick up bearings and guides for something binding under load. AL

What Al says and also make sure the spring is not missing from the tightener pulley on the pickup drive belt. Some operators over oil the chains and the excess oil will drip onto the belt and soften it to the point where it will slip under load.
