A couple picts. of oddball tractors

I was up to the Rock River Thresheree Saturday and forgot I took a few picts. These Haas tractors looked like brand new, never seen one before and forgot where they were built. Then got a few picts. of the big flywheels, pretty impressive for old days.

I have seen those Haas tractors. I have tried to find one to buy for years as that is my last name. They made three models: A,B, & D.

This is direct from tractor data: Haas tractors were produced by the Metal Parts Corporation of Racine, Wisconsin. The company was owned by a Mr. Ed Haas, and he has opened his foundry in 1939. Tractor production began after World War II and continued until the early 1950s.

Probably all were sold in Wisconsin or there abouts.

That's a pretty narrow-minded viewpoint pat, I haven't heard of 'em either, but am aware that there's all sorts of things out there that I have not "heard off" or seen in my little corner of the planet.

One has to keep an open mind as to what may have had limited distribution, and/or was popular in a certain region.

Heck, even "tractorata" has heard of 'em, although not in detail.

Reminds me of one morning I was fueling up at a service station on the way to a tractor pull with 2 Cockshutt tractors on the trailer guy comes over and insisted I'd just made up the
name Cockshutt that was on the tractors as he knew all about tractors and he'd never heard of one.

Those HAAS tractors had cast-iron grills! Beautiful machines, someone did a nice job. There seems to be more of them each year.

The large flywheel generators are almost silent driven by remote steam lines.
