I'm doing a head gasket on a little Isuzu Rodeo 4 cyl; what head gasket set would you choose: Engine Tech, APEX, ITM, Fel-Pro?

This might be a good time to do a little internet research to see if the aficionados have a preference. I've heard of certain brands that wouldn't stay together without gaskets from the oem.

If they had a multi layered steel, that would be my choice. Other than that, I would stay with name brand.

I had an old tractor mechanic tell me to soak the head gasket in water overnight before installing. I never have. Don't know if that's good advice.

The only one I heard of is Fel-Pro . Fel -Pro is high quality gaskets.

Fel-Pro

I've done that on header gaskets, but never heard of it on head gaskets.
