Hello my first post, I have just finished putting my 3010 back together, i rebuilt the motor and added new clutches, all is running good so far except one small leak on the filter housing gasket. I was pressure washing the back of trans housing and i noticed a cover left of the vin plate and i am curious as to what this is for it dose not look to come off but it is bent out at the top. I had to replace all hydro oil as it had water in it, could water have gotten in through this plate.

I think you must be looking at the storage fixture for the PTO cover?

You can see the PTO cover in the storage location in the photo below.

Bob thanks so the piece that is there is for a pto cover to twist onto, i was seeing alot of grunge behind it and thought it might have gone into the trans. I will dig deeper into this.
 
Thanks for the response and the pic i have looked and the piece on the tractor is there to hold the cover on for the pto, i did not want to peel it off and have a bigger mess, it is good now. When i got the tractor it had sat outside partially un assembled and water had gotten in through open lines, i guess hydro is good still.
