Ran into RBinMI and his wife. We had a nice chat, did not see Kevin, was a large crowd and beautiful weather. I started out in the flea market and saw (to me) some interesting things. This was an old wooden washing machine. I removed the lid for a pic of the wood beaters. More to follow...

Johnlobb,

Neat old washer.

I'll have to save your pics... so when I finally lose my cool, and take a sledge hammer to my modern nearly-NO-agitation machine - then my hubby can build me a wooden washer. :)

Sweet, if you get your hubby to build you one, can you get him to stand there and turn the crank till the clothes are clean?

Consider that may be a butter churn. My dad restored an old family unit from his parents in the 1950s. It had been used for mixing paint sometime, but was restorable to display in house. Mother finally found a baking pan that would fit in the open top, she used it to display potted plants for years. Yours is not exactly same, but still might be a churn instead of a washer, just an opinion....

You might be right, Dennis! I never thought of a butter churn. On the side opposite of the crank, there is a small drain valve.

I didn't see you there today John, but there was a lot to see!
Here are a few pics I took this morning.
