Model AA

Would anyone have a suggestion as to where I might find a couple of 4.5 X 22 wheels. Needed for a doodlebug project and I don't know what the rusted out wheels that were used came off of. Thanks for your help.

Others on here have told you can get new rims welded with the old spokes and such. Have said they are quite happy with results. Wait for an answer.

Find a tire and rim that you can get model tires for. Then just make sure the rim is smaller than where the spokes are welded on your current rims. I have the jig to center the rims on and weld them. You can make much the same thing. You just need a pointer that you can measure form the center of the axle to the rim. Just keep working the rim around until it is perfectly centered and weld the spokes back in.

I found a good tire and rim at a scrap yard cut the center of the rim out first. I cut off the old rusted rim, clamped a bar to the plow frame longer than the spokes. I then cut and repaired the spokes so they just rubbed the steel bar at the inside diameter of the rim. I moved the steel bar out to center the rim and kept turning it as I welded the spokes to keep the rim from wobbling.
