Got to pick up a tractor midway between Branson and Springfield Mo. GPS has me going from our place here in Dover up to Sikeston Mo then all the way across on 60 . Anyone got any better thoughts. We run from here to Sikeston in just over two hours all time but they are showing 4+ hrs on over to destination.

Maybe you need to reset parameters in your navigation device/app...

When Sis and I were headed up to SC from FL, she had her app set for interstate travel - it was going to take us back through Atlanta. We stopped at a rest stop and reset it to take us through Macon instead, because it was a more direct route.

Just went to Branson from Clarksville. Crossing the rivers at Cairo is the worst part of the trip. It will be 4 lane all the way once you hit Mo. Mapquest said 6 1/2 hours . Took me 7 1/2 both ways with 3 p stops.

It has been a long time since I drove Missouri east to west across the southern end. But I am think the only road is US 60,that will get you to US 63 south.

A truck driver told me that pulling a trailer your average speed is 50 MPH. Obviously you will be driving faster than 50 MPH but with additional fuel, load checks, etc. he is spot on the average speed.

Do you mean Dover Missouri or Arkansas? It looks like either one the two lane blacktop would be easier. It looks like the long way around to go to Sikeston. I used to live in the area and it was a long way to Branson. We went a couple of times to Silver Dollar City.

but if you go thru Sikeston you can eat at lamberts!. I have drove that route and its hilly and curvy if I remember right.

Sounds about right for what I figured. I have crossed that old bridge so much it does not bother me. I always turn left and cross both bridges rather than go right and thru Cario and up the interstate.

Looks like once you cross the lake you take 119 north and it turns into 121 to go thru Murray and on to Wickliffe.
When you cross into Cairo you can take the old bridge over to Mo or go north thru town and pick up I-57 to cross on the big bridge, adds about 5 minutes to the trip, from there to Sikeston and then US 60 across to US 65.
6 hours on my search.

Came thru Dover week ago Saturday on the way home from picking up parts in Ms. Turned on Bumpus Mills Rd and went cross country to Hopkinsville and then up to the WK Pky, first time thru that area.

You were 6 miles from me when you turned on Bumpus Mills Road. Next time you are around give me a shout.

Yea that changes what I was thinking a bit. No matter which way you go that will be a long haul. Two lane blacktop most of the way.

That bridge is only 82 years old. I used to drive over it when it had holes a foot in diameter where you could see the river below. I drove over the Missouri bridge about a month ago.
