Cutting With The 730

I was cutting along the fence line a couple of days ago using my uncle's old 730 Case on the Farm King mower. The Bison seemed interested and followed along the fence line for a while so I recorded some video. Those calves are sure growing fast.
Bison by the Fence

i see you got some of that Foxtail Barley there too, but didn't see any on the inside of,the fence, will Buffalo eat that ??

40 head? Or so? Did you say where the buffalo roam? Looks like they need the grass your cutting

(quoted from post at 10:58:48 08/11/19) Yea, I would say they are hungry & curious....but, they look to be in good shape.
The owner is supplementing their feed with pellets and hay bales. Not sure how many head but I think most of the cows have calved and there is a bull too.

Thanks as usual. I sure like the sound of those Case diesels - I call it "throaty" as related to the lower RPMs compared to the 2000 or 2200 RPMs of the newer tractors. Do you know anything about the buffalo as to where they are processed? How about profit? Good or just marginal? Higher priced than beef? Google could probably help me out on this if you don't have first hand knowledge.

Only objectionable sound on the old Case is gear noise in high range. It just screams going down the road. Ear plugs help a little.
I hear bison meat is even higher priced than beef in the stores. Even beef looks to be more than I'd want to pay for over the counter. I'm guessing there is good money in bison. They are lower maintenance than cattle.

Really enjoyed seeing the Bison. Is the fence , just a regular farm fence ? Electric ? Thought you had to have a beefier fence for them.

That bison fence is way higher with bigger posts and page wire. I wouldn't even guess how many thousand per mile it costs to build. So far it has stood up to moose and deer jumping over it. Top of the wire is about chin high on me and I'm just over six feet.

(quoted from post at 08:02:30 08/12/19) Wonder where my reply went? About them smelling fresh cut hay?
I don't know if any replies went missing. Sometimes things get lost when I shift between classic and modern view. I prefer modern view except I can't post clickable video links there so have to go to the classic view to do that.
