This was one my uncle used for years under a mounted picker. They removed the picker when they went narrow rows and got a New Idea pull behind. It pulled wagons for years after that then got parked for 20 years. When I got to it the engine was stuck covered in an inch of rust and dust. The muffler is someones homemade stainless steel. It's pretty in the pictures and it was for a year. Then the TSC paint started fading and it's now pink an ugly.

Grandpa?s new 1958 MM G144 combine and a MM ZA saved at a neighbor?s auction sale. His near 70 year old nephew came up to me, at a parade I was in with that set up and said ?That is Uncle Mike?s ZA?. I said ?How did he know?? He said ?I spent many summers on that tractor?. That proves to me each piece of machinery has its own personality. I?m on the ZA. My brother is on the combine.

656 high utility that Dad bought new in 1968. it got a New Idea loader in '69 and still had it when I bought it at Dad's auction in 1989. I used it for my loader tractor until I bought my first Hydro 656, then it was a general farm tractor, until the oil pressure gauge line broke while raking hay. no more engine. by then it had over 12,000 hours, and it got parked in the weeds for several years. a friend had a combine engine that I bought and now it is a most useful yard tractor.
