For the brain trust, can you give me the good, bad or ugly of the exmark zero turn mowers with the 708 24.5hp exmark engine. The one i am looking at is the E-series Radius.Thank you for your time and experience. Neil

I have a Lazer CT with Kawasaki engine. I know a lot can change between models, but it is an excellent mower and has required only the standard maintenance. I would buy another Exmark.

I have Xmark Quest and it has been a real good mower starts and runs great its about 7 years old we have a good sized lawn so its done a lot of mowing. Randy

I have exmark Lazer Z full blow commercial with a Kawasaki so can not comment on there engine.. That platform seat is the real deal I love mine...

As a landscaping lawn care professional for over 20 yrs in my opinion exmark overall is one of the best mowers on the market with that being said I run the x series with Kawasaki 25hp before that laser z with 27 hp kohler. The E series is exactly what it s advertised as E=economy series to compete with other lower scale mowers. Depending on what your mowing and how much, you might want to upgrade

I have a Laser Z series that I got in 08', still running great, with the same belts. No maintenance issues to speak of, except a tire with sidewall cracks, which Slime fixed. Looks like the E-series has a heavier deck, which is what you want. I almost NEVER have to clean out grass from underneath. I've mowed some pretty tough areas with it too. Like others have said, it's a pretty stout brand, I see them used by commercial landscapers all the time.
How much do you have to mow, and are there a lot of slopes??

Twenty years ago BEFORE Kubota came with their zero turns I was loosing sales so I took on Exmark. Sold a lot of their mowers. Then all of a sudden Yoro bought exmark. Service and product went down hill after that. T he marketing now is pointed where you can buy the same mower from a Toro dealer at a lower price. They seem to want to kill the Exmark name eventually.

Exmark and Toro are the same company with different dealer networks. They make good products, but sometimes the 'bells and whistles' give unneeded trouble.

Since I work on the Toro side, I am unfamiliar with the model number, but I am guessing it is in the homeowner line because you say it has an Exmark engine. I have only seen a handful of Toros with a 'toro' engine on them, but they are pretty much like the Predator engines sold at Harbor freight, I think. Just keep in mind that Exmark will probably be your only source for parts for that engine. It won't be like if your mower had a Briggs, Kohler, Kawasaki or Honda, where about any local dealer could fix you up.

I have a Lazer Z with the 20 hp Kohler. Just passed 1000 hours. Engine got to where it was leaking and burning oil around 800 hours, some new gaskets and such and it s good to go.

Have had both hydraulic power packs rebuilt but they had 7-800 hours on them. I ll definitely buy another one.
