Yesterday's forcast at my house

So I decided to take off from work early to cut my oats. A few minutes after I got home I took this pic.

So no cutting yesterday. The weather appears to be dead set on destroying everything this year. Cut some poor oats for hay last week because the forecast was for a week of dry weather, but it's had at least 3 showers on it since. Not enough to amount to a rain, just enough to make it junk hay. Oh well, that's how it goes sometimes.

That?s to bad hopefully next year will be better . Remember the little house on the prairie episode where it rained so much they couldn?t get any crops planted so Charles and Johnathon had to take a job at the rock quarry. That was in Minnesota I think

Yep,the rock quarry was in Mankato. Ironically I just finished mowing the grass at one of my rentals which is 50 feet from the quarry edge. This house was built by the original owners of the quarry using limestone from 50 feet away.

Our spring started out wet and when it did dry enough to plant we got 14 inches the next week. The corn for the most part survived but looked awful for a long time. All the bean had to be replanted the first week of july and now it has not rain a measurable since.

Man the small grains are poor this year. I do 15-17 acres For a place to apply hog manure from a neighbor and get some straw, not sure I need to get out a wagon when combining it. Shoulda chopped and put up for feed whole plant, but that wouldn?t fit what I do either and cost more in forage equipment hire than worth too. Just smile and hope for next year.

Even on tiled ground, such late planted oats turned into a whole lot of nothing here. Just a rotten year for crops, especially small grains in this back yard.

And if there is a chance of rain, it rains. If there isnt a chance of rain, it rains.

My back yard is actually drying out of late, we did miss a couple. Those with loam or sand are wishing for rain, I?m still quite comfortable on my clay and peat.

We cut and shocked for Junkshow 2 weeks ago. Had a fairly nice stand with an acceptable amount of grass. We?re hoping to beat the rain Saturday and get the bundles loaded and in.

One day last week I had to run
the heat in my car on the way
to work to take the chill off.
Think it was 45 that night.

My neighbor has his lawn mowed by a service. We haven't had 1/2"of rain in 3 weeks. 80's and 90's They still show up every week to make tracks in his yard.

right

and they want us to believe they can predict the ave global temperature will warm by 1 degree over the next 30 years???!!!!!!!!!!!!

bull. cannot get a 3 day forecast right, let alone a 7 or 10 day... 30 years?? 2 degrees over 100 years???

what a scam.. bigger scam than Y2K was.
