(quoted from post at 18:14:45 05/14/10) Hi folks can anybody give me any info on a French built Pony. I have got one to restore for a friend and would like engine and electric details. It is fitted with a french Simca engine and 6 volt electrics. I would also like a contact in France for obtaining parts. Many thanks MJ

Can I ask how you got on with this project MJ? Reason being that I have the chance of picking up the same tractor (an 812), running, but a bit tatty, very close to where I live. I guess the question is - are spares actually available, or will this wee machine just be a pain in the butt 'cos there is no availability of anything in the UK or France? or even tyres?? Cheers, Jim

Hi Jim,a few years ago we had to get a French Pony running for a customer. We gave up trying to find Simca engine parts so we converted it to British 12 volt system but my auto-eletrican did the work for me. When you get it running you will soon find out that nobody ever worked out how you got on and off the tractor. MJ

Thanks, MJ.
I have worked out that I can, at least in theory, source tyres for it if they are required (4.00x15 and 8.00 or 9.00x24 - well, 8.5x24 are available anyway) - so if it's actually running well enough I may rise to the challenge - or at least go and have a look! Jim
