I got a David Brown Seletamatic 880 and it needs gears. Would anyone know where or how I could replace them. Anything would help.

You need to be far more specific than what you have posted so far. Why do you think you need gears, and what ones???? We don't even have a clue what continent you are on.

ACG, from your experience do DBs have a gear problem?. From what I?ve seen and read David Brown has a fairly reputable drive train as they started as a power component company and still are a power component company with several feathers in their hat along the way.

I got to looking at it and it needs the low/high range gears. It s all one shaft and I been looking since and haven t came across nothing

from what I was told. One of my uncles tried to engage the pto while it was running and you had to shut the tractor off engage the pto and crank it back up. He didn t and he grinded the gears and broke and chipped them

(quoted from post at 20:44:56 08/06/19) from what I was told. One of my uncles tried to engage the pto while it was running and you had to shut the tractor off engage the pto and crank it back up. He didn t and he grinded the gears and broke and chipped them

If this is so, it sounds as though there was a clutch problem BEFORE the gear problem. Or, your uncle didn't press the clutch pedal far enough.

High-low for the PTO, or High-low for the transmission?

In either case it is likely an abuse issue. The transmission is a simple unsynchronized box, full stops to shift every gear. The PTO box requires a properly adjusted clutch, and not grinding it into gear.

Parts should be readily available used, as they simply don't go bad.
