My rear brakes lasted 108K.

I've never seen brakes like this. It was a challenge getting the parking brake cable installed.

Got it done and hope they last another 108k.

Never seen a spring like this.

Thank God for the two holes in drumb. I would have never gotten the drum off without them. The silver thing are two bolts acting like a puller.

Are you calling the spring in second pic
a C spring?

I grew up before disk brakes. Changing
shoes was easy compared to these shoes.

Have the same setup on a Chevy. There is a point on the frame under the driver?s door where the parking brake cable goes from one to two. Easily disconnected. Saves all sorts of struggle.

Yes, I had to disconnect the cable. Took me a while to figure that out. The hard part was getting the retaining spring back on without having the right tool. It took both hands and both knees to hold everything in place.

I'm on my 4 set of front brake pads. I've increased the trailer brake voltage instead of using truck brakes as much. Now I'll be replacing the trailer brakes.

Being that hard on brakes you could have been a mail carrier!

I haven't changed a rear brake shoes in 15 years and that was oil soaked on my son's Toyota. Probably been 30 years since I've worn out a set. Course I don't usually carry real heavy loads and I avoid hard braking.
