The small, white dog "Blue" is gone.

He has been replaced by "Dixie" and "Trixie".

I have Great Pyrenees Livestock Guard Dogs, friendly to people fierce fighters when it comes to protecting livestock and poultry from things like Coyotes, other dogs, etc.

I like those dogs, very smart. Also border collies, smart and great personality. Loyal dogs. I've always had cats but also like dogs. There should be more dog photos here. This is a pic of a golden lab at a farmer's market in Paris from few years back. Friendly dog but bored, wanted to get back to the farm, waiting for market to end.

Nice pictures. I am a dog lover and always had a farm dog but its too hard on me when they die so I gave up on having a dog.

I had his twin for 10 years, Best dog that ever had me. He was so smart, Would bury bones for a couple of years and then dig them up when he decided they were ripe. Kept the cat and three Goldens in line and protected them. Would open and then close the door when he came in. etc

We all got nice dogs.love seeing their pictures
I got cats too.red plays with them also.friendly as can be but move like you gonna harm me red goes ballistic

When I was a kid on the farm, we had an old German Shepherd named "Shep".

He had to be the dumbest dog on Earth. I always said that dog was living proof that God has a sense of humor. His only redeeming quality was, with my sister playing the piano and me playing the fiddle we could get him howling so loud the folks would throw all three of us out of the house.

He always slept on the porch outside the front door. One night, he died in his sleep. The screen door opened outward, so in the morning my dad had to go out the back door and drag the dead dog away before anyone could go out the front door.

Before Shep, we had a mutt dog named "Toby". He disappeared and my sister and I were told he ran away. We later found out our dad shot him for eating eggs in the chicken house.

My buddy Loki hitches a ride whenever he can. Absolutely loved the areal lift. Probably figured he could get to the squirrels better that way. However, it doesn't seem like it will be long before he figures out he can climb trees. Almost he made it to the crotch on our elderberry twice. Can't wait to see how he manages to get himself out of that one. I have a feeling if I call the fire department & tell them that there is a pitbull in the tree in front of my house, they're going to send those nice men in the clean, white coats.

From left to right is Dallie, a rescued Aussie, Jack, a rescued Golden Retriever that was abused and malnourished as a pup, and Renn, our regal Aussie.

I have always had a dog or two around. They really attach themselves to your heart. We are currently down to a pair of House dogs. Frist time in a long time we do not have an outside dog.

Here is a picture that is over fifteen years old. These two dogs always where waiting for me to get home. They had my schedule down and would come an set under this pine tree for me to come in the drive way. The left dog is a Black female chow named Bear, she rode all over the entire US with me. The right dog is a American Mixed male dog, Tucker was a good watch dog that never met a strange kid/child. He would come in during cold weather. If anyone was on the couch they had him cuddled up against them. HE was an original cuddle butt.

I know how you feel. Have always had dogs but cry like a baby when I loose one. My Girls are getting close to the end of the road at 14. Always say I?ll never do it again but I do. I like the company and a dog just wants your love and they deserve it. I don?t take their love to me for granted. They aren?t expendable just because they are a dog. If I take one on it?s for the long haul. Annie had cancer and I spent $3500 on her but it doesn?t matter, my commitment to her.

A buddy of mine, "Glen", now deceased, had an old mutt dog named "Sherman". His wife, "Lou" had a little toy poodle named "Babbett".

One day Lou gave Babbett a bath, put a ribbon around her neck, and sat her outside to finish drying off. Sherman walked up, sniffed her over, and raised a hind leg and peed all over her. Glen about rolled across the yard laughing, and Lou was about to kill him and Sherman, both.

Glen died in his sleep one night, and the next morning when Lou called the authorities, Sherman wouldn't let anyone in the bedroom with Glen. It took them a half hour to get the dog out of the room before they could tend to Glen.

This is Lucky, a friend in Iceland. He gets along with all the farm animals, leaves them alone--even the chickens that run around. Acts as protector for the lambs if a bigger animal gets too close. Sometimes he'll be excited to see me, will stand on hind legs, stretch out his front legs and manage to rest them on my shoulders to balance himself. His way of saying he wants a kiss.

This past July 4th three of our granddaughters came to stay with us for a couple days and they brought along their four little ankle biter dogs. Three of them were the size of a medium sized cat. I like to sit on the recliner with a firm pillow on my lap to rest the Ipad on. Eventually two of the little dogs ended up on my lap enjoying the pillow. What I didnt know is these two dogs dont get along with each other very well. I was enjoying petting them when the smoke alarm went off. Someone burned some food on the stove. The screech of the smoke alarm set the two dogs off and in a flash I had a snarling, growling, biting, ball of brown fur going around in circles on my lap. I didnt want to get caught up in the fracas so I shoved them off on the floor and I swear they were still going around in a snarling circle on the way down to the floor. When they hit the floor they REALLY went at it till one of the granddaughters broke it up. A little while later they were going at it in the bedroom so one of them was put in a kennel upstairs for a time out.

Just last night the Smithsonian channel on Dish had a show about "the dog", aka the 10,000 year descendant of the Wolf! Really interesting show. A good part of it was showing the effects of selective breeding over the years......you mean GMO?????? That "awful" acronym?. The Border Collie evolution was explained along with sled dogs, the big guy up in Nova Scotia that swims and the fast runners in the desert. References were showing the Wolf characteristics in each breed covered.

Not one picture of the origional all around junkyard dog, an Airedale! Fearless, loyal and a sense of humor!

GMO haters have no idea why they hate . Ask just one of them to put in their own words why they are so bad and without giving information from Facebook or some crack head anti farming site from people who have never done anything but watch YouTube or Facebook
