That?s beautiful work, around here it wouldn?t stay looking like
that very long or might even go missing

Same here. I have to keep a spare mailbox because apparently mine has a bullseye on it. People either hit it with their vehicles or someone attacks them in the middle of the night with a baseball bat.

Menards has a HEAVY duty mailbox. Nearly 1/8" thick with a recessed door with magnet. Mine got one ding, but must have rung their bell as no more damage. I was loosing 2 boxes a year.

I like the bigger mailbox for packages. Most of the heavier ones I've seen are the smaller ones. I'll certainly look into it. Thanks.

Seen this in northern Iowa a couple of years ago. It has since been moved back closer to the house.

We gave up on trying to keep a rural mailbox about 18 years ago. Worst year was 6 destrroyed by "mailbox
baseball". We have rented a PO Box ever since. It was conveniently on my way home from work. However,
I retired 12 years ago. Now, my wife just makes it part of her shopping circuit every few days. Also,
when were gone for a few days, we don't have a calling card at the road saying, "no one home".
The same with newspapers. IF we want the local fake rag, we may pick one up.
