I have water getting into my Air Cleaner Cup. I have found a couple of leaks in the air cleaner housing and I am fixing those. However, has anybody had an issue with condensation accumulating in it? I have made a small tarp just larger than the hood to keep rain off the engine and don't see how water gets in even thru the leaks in the housing.
Any suggestions?

Yes condensation can/will cause that and that is why one should service the air cleaner cup once or twice a year. I've seen that problem just from sitting over the winter in a shed where rain etc. cannot be the problem but condensation is

Started servicing them since 47 when the B was new and have never seen a condensation problem dirt yes. Condensation in the winter time in the crankcase yes when the oil was changed before spring work after grinding feed for hrs loader work and snow plowing on the lane and to the two barns where the cattle were fed.

It is highly unlikely that it is condensation, simply because there is so little mass to the sheet metal that the filter housing is made of. This is why during a high humidity event you will have water dripping from the housings but not a tiny drop on the sheet metal. Yes, it is possible to get a little but it will be insignificant. The four cylinder Ford gas models will take in water during a wind driven rain, and the diesels will get a few drops per rain event past the nut that holds the air pre-cleaner lid on.
