Yet another M6060 update

Just got off the phone with ther dealer. He put the tractor back on the dyno for 2 hours and it ran better after than it did before. Gonna bring it home and put it to work baling hay next week & if it does it again they are going to come to the hay field and see what it's doing. Of course since the put it on the dyno and pulled the fuel tank & blew out all the lines, it will be on me to pay for it since that part is not covered by warranty. I really don't care since it is hopefully good to run again. I still have a feeling it's gonna do it again, but time will tell. Thanks guys for all your input. Keith

What is your fuel supply????

Since they cleaned the tank and lines and it now supposedly runs well I would fill it up from a different fuel supply on the way home and try that. If it runs well for that first tank I sure would question the fuel supply.

And as a added precaution I would add some biocide to the fuel.
This is sounding more and more like you are in the early stages of algae problems.

I had a similar problem last year.
Tractor would not run at full power with screen in bottom of tank.
Fuel look clear so I did not suspect algae.
Removed screen from tank and it would run.
Installed new screen and cleaned all lines and still had loss of power.
Treated with biocide and the problem went away.

It's been sitting in their shop so it hasn't been out in a rough road or field, so that's a very good possibility. The fuel supplier I buy from supplies a lot of the tow boats on the Ohio river and they are one if not the largest in the area. I did just fill up just before I got a new fil up, but he said he couldn't find anything wrong with the lines and the tank was clean so who knows. Keith

Don't understand about not being covered by warranty. Its a new tractor and they need to make it run right regardless of what they have to do it seems to me.Could be something about the electronics or a built in problem they know about just want you to let it slide. They better be glad its you and not me that bought that tractor(LOL)

Hopefully they got the problem rectified. At least they got on it right away for you which I would expect from my dealer. As long as it is or was a fuel problem I guess you can't expect it to be covered on warranty on a tractor you've had for a couple years. It sounds like they are trying especially if they come out to the farm if you still have the problem next week. Good luck.

I have a late '80's L355ss, 2008 M6040, and a 2012 RTV900 and have never had a fuel issue. Here in central MO. there is no bio diesel if that makes a difference.

Keith I have to be very careful , what I say on here and I sure do not want to get involved but you might talk to the dealership owner or manager about getting it covered under KUBOTA good will policy , there is money available , he has to get his territory service rep involved , but KUBOTA wants to keep you satisfied , going to be interesting to see what happens when it goes to the field. John Deer seller told you right sometimes there are just things that will not show up till the tractor is in the field.

We sold a brand new New Holland tv140 delivered it and it was acting about like your Kubota is it turned out to be pinched wire under the cab from the factory

I looked this tractor up on tractor data. It has a common rail fuel system, an EGR valve, which means it has a variable vane turbo, and an ECM. The EGR has to close when under a load or acceleration. When this happens the variable vanes shift to keep the 'boost' at the correct amount. There has to be a boost sensor, an EGR position sensor, intake air temp sensor, and a few others. All of these sensors tell the ECM how much fuel to send to the injectors. If the EGR is out of position, the variable vanes could be out of position. If the boost sensor is stuck, in range, at a low reading, it could cause the ECM to think there is no load on the engine when actually there is, and The ECM will not send enough fuel to the injectors. When it is hooked to the dyno, these parameters need to be watched to find the problem. I really, really doubt it was your fuel supply. Mark.
