Half a tire (wheel) is acceptable... right?

if you chain it down properly. plus those wheels on the trailer would have their attention first, they are not legal.

Other than seeing a slick tire on the rear, why are they illegal? I see those wheels everyday on the road.

I have the same ones on my trailer, and I've been through 10 states and I don't know how many scales and ports of entry. No one has ever said anything.

Yes. John called Monday to ask if I could
pull a truck out that had gotten stuck
trying to load up a McCormick Deering 15-
30. After getting the truck out, the guy
asked if I wanted to make a few bucks
pulling his tractors out of the weeds and
onto his trailer.

Another internet fable. There is absolutely nothing illegal about that style of wheel. The illegal part is ONLY if the tire sidewall says "For mobile home use only". The tire size will be something like 8-14.5 MH.

Sounds like a fun time--anything left similar to the McCormick-Deering I was looking at?

This guy bought 5 at the sale- the 15-30,
two 10-20's, an F12, and this F14. He
also bought another F14 today, from the
scrapper. The 10-20's and the second F14
are still there. We got the F12 loaded
today.
YT DOT won't like the pickup in front of
the trailer, either... just a 1/2 ton.
Wag the dog..

looks like the ones that the old mobile homes had. people would make trailers out of the axles. those are not legal on the road. that is why the movers cut them out of any used mobile home with those axles. then they use a jeep to move it. maybe these are different. I never see those axles on the road either.

I got an old friend that moves mobile homes for a living, when I need tires, I?ll buy brand new (used one time) tires and wheels for $40 each. They last for years, have pulled equipment trailer in Alabama and Florida and never had a problem with the law

Nothing wrong with a half ton for that load, many are rated to tow 10k or more. Out Toyota tundra tows my mini excavator on trailer, about 9500lbs total, it tows and stops it much better than my old dodge 250 with a Cummins

I?d love to see that rice burner pull with a w250 dodge diesel 😂😂😂 did you have a 2x4 under the throttle

I I Captain, when do I start, lol, I said "looks like", and referred to the mobile home axles. so maybe they are legal in U.S. , but not legal in Canada. appears non of you guys seam to know. reason is problem with the rims coming loose and falling off.

and you sir are 100% right .i was stopped last year and had 2 MH tires on and they NEVER SAID A word just made sure brakes worked

Not the wheel but the axles a trailer with mobile home axles or mobile home tires won't pass state inspection in Virginia. Can't tell what axles the trailer has from the picture.

You folks, that are not wet behind the ears, ought to know by now that 'whatever a man has, it is always the best'.

Maybe pulling a 14 foot aluminum fishing boat. I always get a kick out of how great the Chevy guys think there stuff Is then you see the loads they haul

Oh and forgot better keep a set of tie rod ends with you . I had a 2500 Chevy the front drive line in my 2500 dodges was almost the size of the rear in the Chebby and the truck was a 96 and both doors were falling off and every piece of the interior was junk Chevy might be good for a City guy who never hauls anything or drives off the road I would Have rebuilt that ending but the truck was junk

He hauls some big loads and it has plenty of power,I'm not a Chevy guy but if I was going to buy a diesel truck it'd be a GMC or Chevy with the Duramax. And as a bonus over the
Dodge/Fiat you can hear the radio when it goes up the mountain.(LOL)

Rustred, do you mean Aye, Aye, Captain?

I deliver to a trailer repair shop, brand new axles like those are in the rack waiting to be put on. The good tires will say Low Boy(12 0r 14 ply) on the side wall. Most of the house trailer tires say (for trailer use only) that is what we use them on.

How do you know the ball joints on a Dodge are good? The owner just spent a weekend installing new ones, and the truck is still on jack stands.
