have a 3020 power shift that is slow to shift into 7th and 8th gears. gets better when is is warmed up but still seems to slip or be slow to engage. any ideas what may be the problem thank you

if the fluid is full and clean, and you are showing adequate pressure on the dash gauge even then it will shift somewhat slower going into 7th as you are shifting several brake and clutch packs at the same time.If it seems slow or soft going into the other gears you may want to adjust the rate of shift screw to give a quicker solid shift which will help the 6-7-8 shift

I have always let of the foot throttle going from 6th to 7th and have always pressed the clutch from going to 7th to 8th.

Been shifting like this since I got the tractor back in the early 1970's

I don't know about a 3020 but I do have a 4020. It's a major pain shifting from 7 to 8th. It shifts soooo much better to go from 6 to 8th, it goes in almost instantly. Going from 6 to 7 is slow too. If I really want 7th I go into 8 and back down to 7. It's faster and much smoother.

Sounds about normal to me also.. Mechanic told me years ago when I asked about it told me to keep the rpms up when going to 7 then to 8th... also clutch it..

I have never owned one and only drove one about 2 hours in my whole life. But I have heard JD power shift are tough as nails.

Slap the shift lever, yank the throttle back for a few seconds, then pour the coals to it!

I don?t know why you guys have so much drama .
