The dance is over....

The square dancing Farmalls are hanging up their keys. After 11 years of performing
all over the province, at many venues, to millions of people, the dance is over.
Their group consisted of a number of restored Farmall C and Super C models narrow
front that performed a rapid swirling square dance complete with caller. It is
simply amazing to watch their choreography in action. The drivers dressed up as
well adding to the show. They were based out of Teeswater Ontario.

Thanks for the show, boys, it was great!

I don't know if it was the same group but I watched them dance at the state fair in Iowa several times. Very impressive driving and very entertaining.

This group uses "H" tractors, located in Rochester Indiana. I have watched them several times, lots of fun. joe

My wife was chairman for our 125th year town celebration and we tried getting these for our event. They were out of Nemaha, Iowa and also have disbanded. She saved this and other clippings of them-I must have contacted them for I have written down--$1000 plus $8 a mile-sounds cheap.

Allis Chalmers was the first to do the tractor square dance thing with the model B either late 1930's or or early 40's.

Don't miss an opportunity to see Lily Pearl's Dancing Tractors from Rochester, In if you are nearby a scheduled performance. That might even be Lily herself with her hands up in the air.

Gtoup that preforms at a show close to me uses all different makes. Farmalls, John Deeres, Allis Chalmers, Oliver. 16 tractors going at once.

There was a group around Ottawa Ontario that used bobcats, not sure if they still do it anymore.

The ones i seen were super C's, and the plow was the partner, and the caller would say drop your partner, they would unhook the plow, and all of the dozy doe stuff, very nice, but seen it with bobcats too, and they would drop the bucket and then grab your partner etc.

There was also a group west of Ottawa Renfrew County that performed with tractors. Various makes, depended on what the driver owned or was familiar with.
