Trying to gather up a short crop of hay to bale.

That's the way it is here!! Got some really nice grass hay, but keeps getting rained on!!!
Might have to sell it to the feedlot instead of horsey people!!!

Is that your 7721 combine in the background? I suppose your rain was too late to provide good hay? Can you get a 2nd hay crop around the early Sept time frame?

Kind of ironic it was too dry to grow decent grass all spring. The rain cme too late and now its a struggle to get enough dry days in a row to bale. What I did bale was pretty high moisture. Hopefully it will not spoil in the bale. More rain coming tonight.

We are getting a 1/4 inch or less every other day now, sucks for hay and spraying which are both past due.

Grrrr.

Should be 90 tomorrow and about the same humidity, got 2 loads to bale, see if I survive. Or if it rains......

Funny how dry you had it, we are so dang wet.

Ron, that is the spare parts 7721 in the background. I got it last fall from a local guy.

I'm getting spoiled on the hay deal last couple years here at my place in VA its been so wet the hay has been very heavy although last year it was really hard to get it made because of the rain. This year real good hay growth and better weather to make it.Dry years like you are having are tough no hay plus very poor pasture.
