Transmission replacement

I have a 8n with a standard 4speed transmission can I replace it with a Sherman transmission and if so is it a tough job

the Sherman is an add-on auxiliary transmission that installs in the bell-housing in front of your 4 speed transmission. Not hard to do, just split tractor,
remove intermediate shaft and replace with Sherman. You'll have to accurately drill a hole in the casting for the Sherman shifter- thats about the only part that
takes some skill.

As the other guy say it is an add on aux transmission and they come in a number of set ups. Overdrive which is the most common. Under-drive less common and combo which is the best since it would give you 12 forward speed.. But one problem with them is it changes the PTO speed also

Spend your money on a real tractor with modern day abilities, that will do something for you, other than
being an Iconic version of what outdated tractors with modifications used to be..----Loren
