Sundown On The Wheat Field

Took this shot while filling up the tank at the dugout yesterday evening. Watching the sun set over a nice field of spring wheat.
After the dry start the crops have really taken advantage of recent rains

I guess the term is not universally used but dugouts can be found on most farms here. In simplest terms it is a hole "dug out" of the ground to hold water for use on the farm. Catches snow melt and rainfall. When the sloughs dry up we can still get water at the dugout.

Nice photo. Looks like the wheat is heading out or maybe it's just a reflection from the photo that appears as "headed out".

Non related. Rusty, Did you ever dig out the magazine that you pictured in a message related to the Kato-Nokes self propelled swather? Had a nice phone visit with John tonight - the fellow who posted the "original" Kato-Nokes material. Would be interesting to know what your magazine said. Ron

Hi Ron
Sorry, totally forgot the magazine but will try again. Yes that wheat is headed and looking pretty good for as dry as the spring started out. Most wheat is looking good but there is not a good canola crop for many miles around.
