Hi, we had a blueberry farm near us when I was little.
They ha d a jd with tracks like that also a Ford 8n with
bombardier fracks. Ed Will Oliver BC

That would be fun my little 420c with 14 inch pads
would go through snow 10 feet deep it would sink
down almost to the belly pan and just go anywhere
you pointed it . I bet the crawler In the picture would
almost float on water

Now you said something I was getting ready to say. Bet that would work great in Cranberry bogs. You could thrash the berries loose and they float to the surface. Then you "corral" them over to the elevator and into a bin or truck.

I have seen old crawler tractors with tracks like that out in the equipment graveyards on a couple neighbouring cranberry farms. I think they used them for dragging scrapers / land levelers out when clearing the fields.

We used an old JD 350 swamp cat for some of the work on our cranberry farm initially. It was slow and limited with what you can do. I had a DMC SnoCat for a while and we also have used a D5 with wide tracks. Each have their issues.

As far as using something like that for harvesting in the water... We wouldn't have anything like that near the field. Too much a chance of an oil leak. We are pretty carefull all the food quality stuff these days.

I'll post some harvest equipment some day soon. Grant
