Farmall H State Tractor?

Hey im back with another question (last time i asked about the 1944/45 M with a factory white grill and chrome lining, and yes, I bought it). So about 17 years ago, I picked up a 1941 Farmall H for $150. Yesterday, I ran into the nice man I bought it from and asked him a few questions about the H. I haven't gotten time to restore or pull it out so it's been sitting in a barn. He mentioned about the rear hitch being Orange, and I recalled that (he gave the tractor a new coat of paint with the red and white paint scheme, but didn't paint the hitch). He said something about it belonging to the Illinois State for a state tractor. Now I believe this man because he's very loyal and honest, but I'm not fully relaxed. The serial number is 68847 and if anyone was or had a relieve that worked for the state in the 40s-70s, can anyone tell me about the orange H? And yes, I do know about the WW2 shortages in paint and primer.

I can tell you that the land of more higher taxes, just started putting orange decals on tractors instead of
orange paint in just the last few years. I had a 656 that was orange under the red paint. I would not be surprised
at all,the dealers just repainted them when they were traded in.

Tens of thousands of tractors were painted yellow for various states. Many states have orange DOT trucks, and some have orange tractors.
