Hey, I got the carb off, no junk in bowl, but I agree it could well be the carb is screwy. Problem is I can't cross this carb to anything in the "cheap Ebay carb line", or even find a kit for it. Spent 25 minutes on hold with Vanguard to find the allegedly correct part# 844716. It's a Nikki 621266-A71 near as I can tell. Also have numbers- 0927 and 842017 above the 621 number. Searched till my eyes bled, can't find anything that looks like this one. So, got any hints or secret insight that might help?

Hello Bret4207,

Jack's small engine, looks like they have the carb you are looking
for,

Guido.

I am very surprised the Ebay carb doesn't fit. Is this engine a twin V or a
twin opposed? That NIKI carb is for the Vtech engines. Maybe we are mixing
engines up alittle? BRIGGS Vtech engines are all over the place in garden
tractors zero turns and have seen them in even plane lawn tractors. Could you
give us a picture? Randy's is very good. Have gotten good stuff from them
several times.

No they aren't because there is no such thing as a Briggs Vtech! By the way, it's called a Nikki Carb! Just shows what you know!

Okay, thanks for the thoughts. #1, I'm not putting $265.00 plus shipping into a carb if I don't have to. #2, yes, it's a Vanguard V twin, not an Intek, and while some of the carbs on Ebay look similar, they differ in fuel hose barb type and direction, lack mounting studs, have a different set up for controls. I will do some more looking. What I really wish is that I had a local Briggs dealer that knew his stuff, this can't be as difficult as they are making it.
