638 newholland round baler pickup

The pickup on this baler doesn't do a good job of picking up all the hay in the window it leaves a small amount on the ground. I have the pickup wheels adjusted as low as it will go.all my past balers did a good job cleaning up the windrow but this one is kinda sloppy.other than that it's a awesome baler must just be this model of baler I guess.

Lots of possible reasons for that. Worn pickup teeth can't reach the hay. Hay mowed too close to the ground, so no stubble for the windrow to sit up on (people with discbines seem to LOVE grinding the hay off right down to the dirt). Hay mashed down to the ground by driving on it.

Baler is next to new I dont see it being a
worn out issue.just doesn't go low enough I
guess.

How long did it lay before raking?

You've lowered the pickup on the lift chain right? My 630 cleans pretty good after I replaced missing tines.

Driving to fast will do that also. Our round baler will do fine in 3rd if I go to 4th it will leave hay.
