OK men, here she is, combination of ratchet and breakover binders, one strap, pintle hook and good load balance on trailer. Tow vehicle is a 3/4 ton Dodge Cummins, all tires on truck and trailer are load range E, inflated to 80 PSI. Trailer brakes electric, properly adjusted and operational. Driver (me) has current medical card, class A CDL with tanker, doubles and triples and motorcycle endorsements.(':)')

:D :)

Not sure if it's required but it's
definitely good practice to secure the
handle of the snap over binder

At first I thought you were asking, but you were not asking, you just showed how to do it with NO violations.

Thanks for the comments guys, I have a week off from the regular job and trying to get some work done around here now that it has finally quit raining for a few days. Just having some fun here on YT.

I do not know what was said by whom, but I saw the results. The guy was caught in Missouri pulling a pitillal hitch trailer using a 2 inch slide in adapter(Reese Hitch receiver type) The fine was 4 digits and he was having a true hitch welded on the truck. I have never heard of this before or since. Maybe nothing more than a mouthy IL driver in MO.

Must been 1 of them dayz,we pull pintle hitch trailers on reciever hitches all the time in mo.cop must be gettin an early start on his christmas fund.
Kinda like last few tuesdays on I 44.airplane in sky, work zone set up no work going on .i listen on my scanner, they are raking in a fortune

504, do you know whether the pintle adapter was solid 2" bar or just tube? Depending on the weight to be towed you need a solid bar type adapter. That is what I have for my 7700# trailer.

the trailer looks like mine, what's it rated for ? mine is a 14,000 LB. with a 2 5/8 ball hitch.

Speaking as a retired DOT Inspector, it's looking good to me. Only things I'd wonder is if the tether for the breakaway is properly attached and adjusted for length so it will work if there is a problem and if the pintle is rated for whatever weight you've got there.

Nicely done.

Unless it has some non-factory changes, that muffler isn't restrained by anything but gravity. I would pull it off.

Me " we've been here 2 hours Mr DOT man, find anything wrong?"

Officer: " just be patient, Im going to keep looking until I find something"

I had a full inspection of my International tri-axle dump truck. After a half hour the inspector was telling me how good my truck was. Another fifteen minutes he was so happy with my truck he was getting giddy and told me that I was going to get a sticker. Another ten minutes and he was done, but as he was finishing up his report he noticed a broken weld. He told me that it was OK, he had to report it but that I was still getting my sticker. A gentleman.

14,000 Lb. Bought new in 2002, could count on one hand how many times it has sat outside.

Yup, most of us in my agency were very well aware that every second sitting on the side of the road was money out of the drivers pocket. I always did the best I could to get folks back enroute ASAP.
