Now I need some good weather, it?s raining again today, but I?m ready if it ever stops. I intend to cut much of my first cut clover and alfalfa with my swather because it has a conditioner. Grass hay and second cutting will get cut with this disc mower. It cuts a ten foot swath, guess we will see how well this works. Dealer told me this is the first disc mower they have sold. And since they got this one in for me, two customers have come in looking for information about them.

Should be unstoppable. The thing I see about them is it seems like there should be a substantial counterweight for the sake of the three point hitch, and tractor balance in general.

On the little tractor with a side mounted sickle bar mower I trim around the farm with, I have three wheel weights on the left rear, so when I'm trying to reach over and down in on the right side, the left wheel has some grip!

Looks like you may want to add some more air to that RH rear tire.
They lucked out up on the farm with a couple of 3 day sunny spells and the first cut is done. A lot of the hay ground got plowed under this year. No market for hay. They did manage to find one small dairy farmer who wanted it, and he round baled, and wrapped it as baleage, but the cousin had to mow it and rake it.
Happy mowing, Loren

Lookin' good, Bruce! It looks like a nicely balanced, matched unit. I looked over the Kubota haying equipment shortly after it came out, and the only real beef I had with their discbine was the common oil reservoir on the cutterbar. I've seen a couple of New Holland 411's and similar vintage Case IH discbines grenade the entire cutterbar gear train due to one gear or bearing sending shrapnel though the whole thing. Usually the common denominator though was abuse or neglect.

Hope you get some clear weather out there. We had a great spring, but are now trapped into the daily thunderstorm routine out here too.

Bruce Vicon has been making that unit for several years. We have 6 or 7 out from this dealership and folks really like them and so far no problems.

It took me forty years to figure out that simple thing. I was always thrashing around, riding the left brake, and cursing, while trying to get myself out of whatever hole I had gotten into.

It is always a good feeling buying something new that will make your life easier. Just using it and seeing how much better things are going is great.

Those are really a boon for the tractor glass sellers, if you have a field of rocks.

That is going to be such a pleasure. Now the note .....DON'T HIT ANYTHING. Anyone on here will tell you how expensive that can get. Be carefull with it.

You have the MF/Heston, I went shopping, and best I could do for the MF dicmower without the tyne style conditioner, cost,$3,500.00 more than this unit. Add the conditioner would take another $4,000.00 . So the MF mower conditioner, on 3pth was going to cost me $21,500.00 in Canadian dollars. I bought this for one third less. MF Dealer had never sold one either, and was trying to sell me a side pull, which looked like a nice machine, but would have cost me twice what I paid for this disc mower. All of the side pull discmower conditioners, in the 10 foot width ran between $32-35,000.00 . I could also purchased a 9 foot pivot tongue with finger conditioner at $34,000.00 crimping rolls cost more, so I didn?t bother to ask. This stuff really starts to run into money quick.

Not really Hesston, Agco acquired Fella and that is what there disc mowers are now. Mine was made in Germany, very heavy built. Had to go to a dealer farther away to get one as he had two on the lot. Dealers are starting to sell them to countys for road side mowing. Happy mowing!
