Ferguson Reduction Gearbox Information

[b:184651efc4]Looking for Information on the Ferguson Reduction Gearboxes ..I gather they were an option and a very expensive accessory .Any idea how many were actually fitted & are there any records on the tractors they were fitted to ? This one is in Aus and appears to have a serial number of 804 -Thanks for any info Morrie[/b:184651efc4]

Thanks for that ...Not a lot on the Internet & only a few Owners of these gearboxes with photos .Saw just the gearbox bottom photo ( No Tractor ) sold on E-Bay UK for Aus $4,000 ..is that a realistic price ? Do they come up for sale at all ? What sort of value would you pay for a working tractor with an Epicyclic gearbox ? Uk values seem high compared to Aust -However saw this Very aged Ferguson ( Garden feature for some time ) with a Loader & Howard gearbox advertised for the ridiculous amount of Aust $10,000 ..as far as I know it had no interest at that price & wasn't sold

I knew next to nothing about Ferguson tractors before reading the little information google found for me. The Ferguson gear appears to be considered
?top of the line ? and the Howard unit not as ruggedly built. Of price, worth and value I know nothing. I?ll look a little closer and try to send some info
your way. John
