Hay at Running's today

I had to run into local running's today for some bolts for my cultivator and they had a pallet with a few small bales of hay. Hay was labeled as timothy/alfalfa mix. Bale was about 1/2 the size of the old
rectangular baler size and marked as $17. Bale was probably intended for rabbits but I would be thrilled with half that for a full size bale. I guess its all about marketing.

I always laughed at the 8-10 ears of corn in a bag for $8.00 to feed the squirrels and other animals. If I could market my corn crop like that...... LOL Tom

Some of the hay bales that I have seen in retail stores were compressed a lot more than the bales I used to make. How much did these little bales weigh?

No reason you can't market corn like that and the guy that is selling corn for $1 an ear is probably laughing at the people that sell it for today's market prices. He
who laughs last.........(LOL)

I did it that way for close twenty years sold small bales straw to Hy-Vee and flower shops etc got 7to nine dollars a 40 lb bale. I was always delivering loads every sunday afternoon to most places. used grapple system to do it with
