Baler failure! Don't let this happen to yours

So I have a Hesston 4650 and it was working just fine. Then I looked back to see the last five bales all spread out. They only had one string on them. I think many balers are set up like this one. The knotters are mounted on the shaft that runs through them and are kept in place by a pin through the knotter and a lug on the top of the bale chamber. When I got this baler those pins were held in place with what I call hair pins, look like the letter R. One of those came out letting the pin wiggle out and then knotter flipped forward when the shaft turned. Ruined the cam gear and broke the striper arm. If I can find some good parts to fix it, I'm going to use good ole cotter pins this time. Anyone know of a parts baler 4650 or Case 8550? Anyone have this happen to yours? I am posting this so that you will check yours next time you bale so it won't happen to you. I have learned so much from this site!!

I was helping my cousin bale one time with a Hesston 4910 big baler about 5 minutes into it the knotters cycled the flags went up and were starting to slowly go back dancing up and down with each flake of hay like they normally do then all at once one jerked straight down the hole and disappeared I?ve never ever seen one do that In all the years I ran of those things so I hurried and shut it off one of the knotters seized the shaft and it spun around with it until it finally broke the knotter housing apparently the one auto lube line was plugged and nobody caught it . As far as parts I don?t know maybe call nyssa tractor salvage .
