Wet Weather?

Has anyone heard a good explanation for what is behind all this wet weather?

Peruse the Nov/Dec issue of just about any farm magazine or ag related internet site, and they will all have some blather about el nino, la nina, etc. But those are all general predictions for the future.

But this is now......so what is causing it all? El nino? La Nina? Sun spots? Unicorns mating with rainbows? Trying to figure out what is causing it so we can foresee when it might end.

BTW, general weather pattern as I see it is a high pressure system parked over the SE......another parked over the rockies, with stationary fronts trapped between. Water pulled up from the gulf is being wrung out like it would between the wringers of an old maytag hand crank washing machine. It is all parked and ain't nothing moving. But why?

Well it has to be climate change !!!! All caused by man kind just living and ruining the planet. LOL

The weather has cycled since long before man. It has been hotter and colder. Wetter and dryer. This is not the first wet cycle we have had. In the early 1970s we where wet and cold for a few years. They where saying we were heading for the next ice age.

Has man's actions changed the weather???? I think we have some but nothing to the degree that the climate change supporters claim. They just want to control everyone and can not get enough votes to do it straight out. So they are going with the back door control.

Thousands of scientists all signed up for the climate change wagon. The only trouble is maybe 5% of them have degrees that deal with the weather and climate issues. The ones that are saying the data was rigged are thrown out of the clan. The data has never been subject to pier review like most data is because much of the early work was not done in a scientific manner. They had the conclusion picked out and then had to cherry pick the data to support the conclusion.

It is not going to end. It is part of this so called New World Order. Look up Government Weather Modification and there are articles that will tell you what is going on with this crazy weather we have been having for the last thirty years. Look up information on the HAARP antenna in Alaska. Look up information on the Chemtrails in the sky. All kinds of information out there, people just don't want to believe what our government is doing today.

Yes, I can remember back 50 years ago when global cooling and permafrost was going to be the end of civilization as we knew it. And of course that didn't happen.

One of the more interesting things I've seen on the topic is the nature of cycles. Warming and cooling cycles like 18 years, 50 years, 100 years, etc. During these cycles the average global temps oscillate up and down just like the daily high and low temps do. During warming cycles, weather is extreme and violent.......and during cooling cycles, calmer and "normal".

So what causes the cycles? Who knows. Sunspot activity? Rotation of planets around the sun? Position of sun and planets within galaxy? Perhaps none....perhaps all of it.

But that is macro stuff that the best of them can't say for sure.

What I'm wondering is the short term. What is allowing that stationary front to park itself over the midwest and refusing to budge?

BTW, good news is after today, our weather forecast has all zeros for precip for next 7 days. Maybe I'll get a chance to replant my sweet corn for the 4th time?

In a nutshell, persistent high pressure over Alaska and Greenland allowing Jet Stream to meanader down deep into Southwest and then back up along the Gulf Stream causing storms and rain when the cooler, dryer polar air meets the moister, warmer air from the Gulf and the warm air coming from the Pacific gives uncharacteristic rains to California when it meets the "finger" of cool air. I think they call it an Omega Block because the Jet Stream looks like an inverted ohms symbol on a weather map. Normally the Jet Stream will "straighten out" in the spring as it warms up but some years it does this instead.

Why is it happening? Too many variables at play to know for sure. Take a long enough period of time and chart the weather and you have a bell curve of probability. We're at one end this year. But it makes great headlines and a lot of politicians will try and use it as an excuse to put their hand in our pockets.

The climate change hoax is the result of man's arrogance, in thinking that we are powerful enough to contol the future of the earth.

We didn't create the earth, God did! He didn't like they way we were conducting ourselves once before, so he destroyed it with a flood, and started over. God also told us he would destroy it again, by fire the next time. HE would destroy it! Not us, HIM! We don't have the power to destroy it!

The earth will continue until the good Lord decides he's seen enough of our wickedness and then, and only then, will it be destroyed! Even if I'm still around when he does destroy it, I am sure about where I'll be spending my eternity.

Knowing this, I don't worry too much about all these "scientific" Chicken Littles running around screaming "The sky is falling, we need another tax!"

It's all so simple, even a little child can understand it!

When I was growing up on a Dairy Farm in Wisconsin in the 1940-50s we had wet and dry periods just like now. We will continue that pattern into the future just
like we always have. I wonder how many coal powered power plants were running that contributed to climate change when the Dinosaurs were roaming around Northern
Canada?

There is no doubt the climate is warming and we may have some small hand in that process but to think we can change the climate is bad science. In my opinion,
this is mostly a political movement that is mostly based on politics and emotion.

Very helpful. I can see where the jet stream flows are right over what the area I've observed to be the stationary frontal boundary. Explains a lot.

Still find it curious that the same folks that gas on about el nino and la nina during the winter months.....and make all those bold predictions.......are curiously silent now that we are in the middle of it. No mention of it now......about the best they can do is say midwest will be cold and wet for next few days.......micro climate observations, but no macro climate references as to cause and affect.

As for the climate change crowd, I've also found it curious that in almost all cases, their solution is NOT to stop it........they mostly want to tax it. If they were serious about it, they would demand we turn off the air conditioners, turn off the TV's and park the cars. That they don't is telling.

Someone once said "if you want to know what is behind it ("it" being just about any and all social and political cause), follow the money". That certainly rings true here.
