installed a 10 si , with the da plug , with key off my oil light flashes , unplug the da plug it stops, any thoughts ?

One of 2 causes.

It is wired incorrectly, or the alternator is defective and wired incorrectly.

The latter may have happened because it was wired incorrectly.

Review the wiring carefully, and have the alternator tested.

Thank you Steve what I found out the white wire going to the ignition was hot, so it was back feeding to the ignition, unhooked DA plug left the battery wire hooked up and the post was hot going to the white wire soooooooooooooo, the darn new alt was wired wrong , Thank you so much eveyone

This reply is not going to help you, but I have changed all my alternators to 1 wire. This has worked very well for me, no plugs to worry about just one wire.

What is a "da plug"?

Is this a conversion?

Older 706's had an externally-regulated 10 DN Delco, later serial numbers had a 10SI.

What's yours?

Mine is a late model with the d 310 had alt, with a vr under steering wheel, serial #39919 DA plug plugs into alt, one wire goes to pos post on alt, other wire is switched with key
