farmall c loader

I have a 1951 Farmall c that has a 404 engine in it and a loader that I run off of the original touch control hydraulics. I am wanting to get more hydraulic power and am looking at a few options such as running a hydraulic pump off of a belt which also runs the fan water pump and generator. I wonder if belt drive is adequate for a 12 plus GPM pump , with the configuration of my loader and crank pulley I have few other options. Another idea I had was get the factory hydraulic pump for the 404 with power steering which is supposed to have a 9 GPM rating is that enough for a loader it seems it would be an upgrade from the original c pump I am using now. On this site there is also a left hand rotation pump that would fasten to the front of the crank but I don't know how to connect it. Any HELP on this situation would be appreciated.
Thank You
Steve

Here is my opinion, and it is guaranteed to be worth what you're paying for it.

Any of the external pumps would work a lot better with a remote supply tank and valves.
There are lots of internet resources for planning and building the plumbing for a dedicated pump and control system.
The IHC touch control system was meant to work with the original pump, and make the most of what there was.
The most important thing to remember about a loader on a small tractor is it's a lot better than a shovel and wheelbarrow.
Trying to make it into a big tractor loader can mean lots of tractor breakage.

I don't see a v belt driven pump running a loader at all.

To get the desired speed and power, a front mount crank driven pump is the typical solution.

Unless there is something in the way of using the front pump, this would be the simplest and most economical way.

Just do lots of homework before buying anything. Hydraulics are an exacting science, get it wrong and you're stuck with an expensive mistake.

If you can find a tractor like yours with the set up you like, copy what has already been engineered.

X2.
Our old IH H had a pipe loader. We cracked the bell housing. The loader was very slow. It only had one way hydraulics, up. A trip bucket. Not to mention no power steering.

I question whether the front pulley on a C is clamped to the crankshaft strong enough to be a able to pull a front pump. I rigged up a small, maybe 6 gallon pump direct off the front crank pulley on a B making it a front pump and it eventually wallowed out the pulley keyway. The front of the crankshaft was worn a bit but I got lucky fixing it with a new pulley and JB. It was handy for running a log splitter though. The pump would put the engine to work when the pressure built up. Come to think of it, does a straight C have enough oomph to pull a 12 gallon pump?
