Safety switch

After the close call last week I went ahead and added a kill switch to the tractor's ignition. Works just like a boat's. If I fall off or get knocked off it turns the tractor off. That assumes I have it clipped onto to myself.

Not a bad idea.

I would prefer ROPs and a seat belt for rough conditions.

I think the ones in the seat would be more effective , like the lawn mowers have. I just hate them too.

That is called a Dead Mans Kill Switch . A requirement on drag bikes. Phone cord if you need it longer.

I realize this is an old post but this is exactly what I am looking for.
Can you please tell me if I can take the lanyard and switch piece? with me and take it in the house so the tractor cannot be started by anyone?
All I can find is a photo of the switch made up.

If you dont want the tractor to be started by just anyone, why not install a keyed ignition switch?

The lanyard just pulls off so yes you can pull it off and the tractor will not start. But remember these electrical systems are fairly simple and easy to bypass.
