Talking water injection

I have water/methanol (50/50 mix) injection on my fun car. I have a pump controller that uses the manifold pressure to determine a PWM duty cycle so the pump has variable flow depending on the manifold pressure. Since I have no detonation below 12 psi, I turn on the pump at 10 psi and the pump ramps up as manifold pressure rises. At 20 psi it is running 100% duty and the waste gate is set to 24psi.

It works really well and is a popular choice for high boost small engines.

It used to be- I remember the announcer telling us to watch for the red light on the hood to light, thats when the extra Mikuni carbs would be dumping water into the intake!!

Kinda scary what sticks in the mind of a 12 year-old...

I use 100% methanol, it cools better than water plus it burns unlike water which naturally gives you a little bit more power.
