propane price

It sounds like a racket to me.
The propane business that is.
I suppose fuel oil is about the same.

Of course there are fluctuations in pricing
futures and speculators and all

but that locked in pricing schemes
that we only fill our own tanks
you can own a tank but it will have to be recertified every year
where as ours we rent you never get recertified

ah well

They finally run a gas line in front of my house. It cost me $4,200 to hook up. It took me two years to get the $4,200 back from the money I saved not having to buy propane. Sure am glad I don't have to deal with that anymore.

I got off the bottle 3/4 years ago it cost me $700 in parts I had to dig the ditch the gas Co hooked it all up... Its the same here no cheap LP unless its for a chicken house are tobacco...

My payback was around 1-2 years :).... Try not to inhale propane it will make you lie

don't know where you got that a owner tank has to be recertified every year I have two tanks 20 years old never been a problem

I got a summer fill Friday for $1.04/gal. Prepaid price for this winter has been stuck at $1.24/gal. for several weeks. I've been hoping it might go down with oil prices dropping quite a bit in recent weeks. It's a gamble -- for 1,000 gallons, I stand to make or lose $100 if the price goes up or down a dime a gallon. Last year's prepaid contract was $1.30, so this year looks a bit better. I'm in south-central Minnesota and have two tanks from my local co-op without rental cost and with automatic refills as weather demands. I pay the contract once and then don't worry about LP price all winter.
