The Day It Rained

Finally this afternoon, the first significant rain since winter ended. I don't know how much as I have not been inspired to put a rain gauge out. Water standing in the yard so I'd guess a few tenths anyway. Good to see it can still rain and good to hear rain on the roof working in the shop. Too late for the hay crop I guess but should help the pasture and later seeded crops.

Nice car. Smart for not taking it in the rain.

Good to hear you finally got rain, Rusty. Still nothing here. We were in Weyburn today, showers down there and watches and warnings up for the southeast. They apparently got up to 60 mm a while back but no water laying around.

Its like buying a lottery ticket this year. We have been missing them all up til today. Hope you catch the next one. Tomorrow is supposed to be showery as well so that will get some of that ungerminated canola sprouting.

Glad to see and hear that. But I'm curious as to why it's too late for the hay crop. Seems you should have hay into July and early August. As a youngster in North Dakota I remember Dad made hay off and on all summer.

North of Fort Q.
Ron, the grass is already heading out and some places not high enough to cut so I don't expect it to stretch out much. Hope I'm wrong but this is what I'm hearing from all the cattle guys. I think I'm close to the 2 inch mark now Saturday evening. Been raining off and on for the past 28 hours. Took forever to start and now it can't stop. Not that I'm complaining yet but I've seen the other extreme too.
